Sinking fund calculator
Work out what to set aside each month for a known future expense, and what that is per paycheck. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere — it runs entirely in your browser.
Or work it the other way
If you already know what you can spare each month, this is when the fund is full.
Track it, not just calculate it
In Tuckaway a sinking fund is an envelope with a goal: fund it each month, watch the progress bar fill, and see the months remaining worked out for you. Balances carry across month-end instead of resetting. Free, unlimited, and no bank login.

How do you calculate a sinking fund?
Subtract what you have already saved from the total cost, then divide the remainder by the number of months until you need the money. That is your monthly contribution. A 1,200 dollar goal with 300 saved and nine months left is 900 divided by 9, or 100 dollars a month.
How do I convert a monthly sinking fund to a per-paycheck amount?
Divide the monthly contribution by the number of paychecks in an average month: 4.33 for weekly, 2.17 for biweekly, 2 for semi-monthly. The calculator does this for you when you pick a pay schedule.
What if I cannot afford the monthly amount?
You have three levers: extend the deadline, lower the goal, or accept partial funding and cover the gap another way. Extending the deadline is usually cheapest, since months are the denominator in the formula.
Is anything I type here saved or uploaded?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, stored, or logged.
